Programming is one of the key elements in being a Resident Assistant since it stretches your reach further than your floor alone. It is a chance for everybody to come by and socialize, learn, and have a good time in a friendly environment. I see programs as an opportunity to spread a positive message, inform the audience, or host a fun event residents would love. In my experience, I have tried to diversify my programs in order to attract interest from different kinds of people on campus; from writing thank you letters to the cleaning staff to hosting a FIFA tournament in my room, I got a chance to socialize with people I would not usually see. Another upside of programming is getting to collaborate with other RA's or organizations on campus and brainstorm ideas that would interest residents of Lynn University.
